Individual throttle bodies (ITBs) replace a single shared intake manifold with dedicated throttle control for each cylinder — delivering sharper throttle response, improved volumetric efficiency, and a more direct connection between driver input and engine response.
Our ITBs use a dual drive-by-wire motor architecture, the same layout found in OEM setups. Two independent motors give the engine management system precise bank balancing and refined idle control. A common shaft and dedicated links to each ITB node mirrors OEM safety design, ensuring no single point of failure can cause a runaway throttle condition. A node-mounted position sensor provides a second independent position reference alongside the motor, adding further redundancy and closed-loop accuracy.
Simplicity was a priority throughout the design. Each bank features a tidy vacuum manifold, linking to a central unit, eliminating the tangle of hoses typical of ITB installations. Lightweight fuel rails are included and ready for virtually any injector configuration, and phenolic spacers with o-ring seals provide thermal isolation between the throttle bodies and cylinder head.
These ITBs were developed as part of a complete EFI ecosystem for air-cooled Porsche engines. Rather than addressing intake alone, we set out to solve air, fuel, and ignition control together — because the best performance and reliability comes from a system designed to work as one. The ITBs are intended to be paired with an ignition system upgrade, a dedicated sensor kit and pulleys, all tied together through an upgraded harness and ECU setup.
Every component in the system is chosen and validated to complement the others, eliminating the guesswork and compatibility compromises that come with piecing together parts from multiple sources.
This system has been validated over three years of real-world testing across naturally aspirated and forced induction applications — including our Pikes Peak air-cooled Porsche 993 GT2 EVO — proving durability and precision under some of the most demanding conditions in motorsport.
Available in boot-style and Wiggins manifold interfaces, in 3-bolt standard configuration with 2-bolt applications available. Please let us know your desired intake port diameter and we can tailor our setup for that. Standard is 45mm ID. Multiple colors available as well.
Default color is Black - options available. Make comments in notes or reach out.
